I am recovering from an accident which left me with no use of my right arm or hand…..coloring has improved my left hands penmanship enough so that i may write checks….to keep at this level of neatness i have to color at least every other day…..si i sure do appreciate many of your books

Hours of coloring entertainment in a unique format.
Most of this coloring book is as wonderful as I expected it to be. I like the selections from the Book of Kells that were chosen to be included, and there’s a good variety. The subject matter can’t be beat, but I have two small complaints. One, some of the smaller knotwork details are indistinct, even missing. I realize they may be missing in the original, but for a coloring book I really feel they should have been extrapolated for completeness’ sake. Second, the Latin script pages aren’t translated, and the old calligraphy is hard enough to read that I can’t translate them myself.
Aside from these picky details, though, this is a gorgeous, fun coloring book, perfectly appropriate for the collector, either of coloring books or Celtophilia:)

I got my first dover coloring book about 30 years ago and have been hooked. I now have a collection of about 20. They are kind of hard to find in retail and when you do the selection is poor.
I find coloring to be very relaxing when you are stressed. I also cannot just watch tv I like to be doing crochet or cross stitching, coloring.
These books are very well done as far as the drawings are concerned. They can be very intricate. Some are made more for children but many would be hard for a child under say 10yrs old to do and feel good about.
They are best done with colored pencils as you can get really good at shading and make them really pretty.
I highly recommend this and many others. I do own this specific book.

Doyle’s fairies have a childlike quality that doesn’t entirely appeal to me. They are often like little children playing dress-up. The drawings are very well produced and easy to color. Highly recommend it.

I’m an adult who loves to color. I like the illistrations in this book very much. I use my colored pics to add to my scrapbooks and other crafts, that’s why I wish this book did not print double-sided.

This is a great coloring book for someone who
1) is interested in the Impressionists- famous and some not so well known paintings are included;
2) wants a challenge when coloring. These provide a good opportunity to study the originals and work on colors and shading techniques;
3) would like to color something that is beyond the child level of coloring books;
