Draw 50 Athletes: The Step-by-Step Way to Draw Wrestlers and Figure Skaters, Baseball and Football Players, and Many More… Review

This is probably one of the best in the “How to Draw series…” The pictures in this book are very easy to follow and results can be expected. The book seems to have a “thesis” if you will, the goal is to teach the patron how the muscles of the human body are to be drawn, and how they move in different actions and by the end of the book you can expect to be very good at it.

Be sure to do each drawing numerous times, you will see your improvement and get motivated for other drawings.

I recommend this book to everyone; even the most novice of artists can enjoy it.

In My Humble Opinion

Figure Drawing for Fashion Design (Pepin Press Design Books) Review

I bought this book in order to help me with a Principles of Design class. It was mostly a sketching class and the book helps the student understand how the body is divided when it comes to drawing fashion and croquis. Overall, I think its a fantastic book because it also includes how to draw faces, eyes, hands, etc as well as how textures are drawn and comes with a few color sketches and ideas to get you started. The rest is up to your own imagination.

Figure Drawing for Fashion Design (Pepin Press Design Books) Overview

FIGURE DRAWING FOR FASHION DESIGN offers a concise, topic by topic guide to acquiring and perfecting these skills, concentrating on the female form. The coverage provided means that this book is ideal both for those who want to apply themselves professionally to fashion design, and for all enthusiasts of drawing the human body. Fashion plates are the primary means of visualizing ideas and concepts in costume and fashion design. To give an accurate impression of what is in a designer?s mind it is vital to have complete mastery of the rules of figure drawing. Here, realism and anatomical precision are the chief values, whereas for costume and fashion, stylization and exaggeration are ways of adding individuality and verve to a plate, and of focusing attention on specific elements.

Muscles in Motion : Figure Drawing for the Comic Book Artist Review

Although it is not really an instructional step by step book, I really enjoyed the drawings. very inspirational great reference book on motion, the only thing that I would have liked is more male figures in action. thats all.

Muscles in Motion : Figure Drawing for the Comic Book Artist Overview

Comic-book artists are constantly on the lookout for sources for creating those super-human muscles, and now MUSCLES IN MOTION is ready to heed their cry for help. While most anatomy and life-drawing books focus on average bodies, MUSCLES IN MOTION looks at the musculature of bodybuilders and athletes, and then builds on those physiques to create exaggerated forms that are still strikingly dynamic and realistic. With more than 800 action drawings taken directly from the sketchbooks of legendary artist Glenn Fabry, plus Fabry’s remarkable commentary on those drawings, this is the single best book on action anatomy for comic-book artists, beginning, intermediate, and advanced.
